Our Work
Here you will find a small example of some of our team’s past experiences, impactful projects and community contributions.
Research and Writing
Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg Specific Claims Research Support
Conducted research in support of Kitigan Zibi's specific claims files, developing materials and analysis to help guide community decision-making on land claim issues. This work was rooted in the community's own priorities and designed to be accessible and useful to the people most directly affected.
Facilitation
AFN Nuclear Waste Regional Dialogue Sessions
Facilitated high-level dialogue sessions on behalf of the Assembly of First Nations, bringing together First Nations communities across Ontario and New Brunswick to engage on the critical issue of nuclear waste disposal on or near Indigenous territories. These sessions required careful, culturally grounded facilitation to navigate a complex and consequential topic with care and clarity.
Curriculum Development
Yellowhead Institute Land Back Online Course
Led the back-end curriculum design and development for the Yellowhead Institute's online Land Back course, building the foundational content and structure that brought this critical educational resource to life. The course reflects a commitment to making Indigenous land rights education accessible, rigorous, and grounded in community knowledge.
Guest Speaking
Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC)
Delivered a guest presentation to IRCC employees on Urban Indigenous Issues and the often overlooked relationship between Indigenous and migrant communities in Canada. This session brought a grounded, nuanced perspective to a federal audience, connecting the dots between immigration policy, settler colonialism, and the lived realities of Urban Indigenous peoples in ways that challenge and expand how government thinks about both files.
Workshop Delivery
UNDRIP Workshops
Delivered workshops on the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) for the Algonquin Nation Secretariat and Timiskaming First Nation, supporting Nation members and leaders in understanding their rights and the implications of the Declaration for their communities. These sessions were designed to be practical, accessible, and directly relevant to the realities and priorities of the Nation.
Event Coordination
Helped organize the Algonquin Nation Summit in Ottawa, a two-day gathering that brought together Algonquin leaders and community members for presentations and discussions spanning a wide range of critical issues facing the Nation. Convening that breadth of voices and perspectives in one space requires careful relationship-building, cultural sensitivity, and logistical coordination. The Summit stands as an example of what community-driven dialogue looks like in practice.
